A Legacy of Service Begins

At Burleson Plumbing and Heating, we're proud to be a cornerstone of Mitchell and Yancey Counties, serving families for over 75 years. Our story began in 1948 with Lloyd and Howard Burleson, raised on a farm in Boonford and instilled with a strong work ethic. After returning from World War II, they honed their skills working with Lindsey Gouge at Gouge Plumbing in Spruce Pine. Soon after, the entrepreneurial spirit took hold, and Lloyd ventured out on his own, with Howard joining him shortly after.

Their initial location on Lower Street in Spruce Pine eventually expanded to include a building on Upper Street. In 1959, they moved to the company's current, expanded location on the corner of Highland Avenue and Summit Avenue. At one point, the Burlesons, along with their brother-in-law Eugene Young and brothers Lawrence and Claude Burleson, even built houses from the ground up, leaving a lasting mark on the tri-county area.
